The Kyle-Specter Immigration Legislation

This legislation is supposedly heavy on border and enforcement and gives legal status to those illegal aliens now in the shadows. It is "the nose of the camel under the tent" strategy to give illegals legal status and pave the way for citizenship later on. Legalizing them would relieve the pressure on them to make them return to their own country and at the same time give amnesty to those employers in the construction, restaurant, hotel and motel, meat packing, and other businesses who rely on cheap labor to make big profits. These legislators "concern" about having millions of aliens in the shadows is a farce. They are engaging in blatant propaganda to convince the public that the problem is solvable by making illegals "legal". They avoid the argument that giving legal status to those engaging in illegal activities is promoting anarchy, and a general contempt for our laws and sovereignty. We don't want illegal aliens feeling secure in engaging in illegal activities; identity theft, document fraud and forgery, illegal entry, using public welfare under false pretenses, tax avoidance, to name a few. Besides the illegal activities they engage in and promote there are social repercussions. Blighted neighborhoods, depressed wages, lost jobs, negative politicization of immigration issues, added costs to public and emergency services etc.
No, the piece-meal amnesty that is being proposed by Kyle-Specter is underhanded and dishonest, a sleight of hand by politicians who should know better.
