Illegal Immigration--Where There Is A Will?

To use an old cliche--Where there is a will, there is a way. So far, regarding solving the illegal immigration problem, I have seen little will displayed to solve the problem, only ways to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens trying to gain legality by "squatting" in the U.S.
There are laws on the books from before 1986, as well as the "Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill" passed in 1986, that would have done much to have forestalled our present predicament. What has been the problem, and is now the problem, is the lack of will to follow through with what was intended by passing immigration laws. All along the main thrust of our representatives efforts has been amnesty, not enforcement of border security and illegal immigrant hiring.
Now the lip service is to border fences and security; but, what is lacking is strong language about enforcing the law regarding illegal hiring of illegal aliens. All that has been done is a few "token" raids, letters regarding social security numbers, and a few speeches regarding employers hiring illegal aliens.
Where is Social Security and the IRS? Identity theft is a serious transgression and any illegal alien using a bogus number, or someone elses number is attacking the integrity of an important part of our institution.
An argument, now being voiced by proponents of amnesty, regarding the errors within the Social Security system is completely bogus--the errors created within the Social Security system are small; but errors produced as a result of 12 to 20 million using bogus numbers, or multiple users of the same social security number, is large. The only way to solve bogus numbers is to go after employers and their alien employees. Again we have the will problem.

Much talk and promises will be made about fences and the border, mention may be made about employers, but all you will see will be amnesty and citizenship for millions of illegal aliens; deja 1986 all over again.

Was Jesus Running For Office?

Mike Huckabee is wrong. Riding an ass through Jerusalem was definitely a political statement; recognized at the time as someone about to take over the throne of Israel. If that isn't running for "office" I don't know what is. The divine thing came after his death. The Romans crucified him for assuming to be the "King of the Jews", not for assuming the role as the "Son of God".
Huckabee is playing the Religion card for all its worth and if he is sincere about mixing Religion and Politics you can throw the Republic in the garbage heap. What we are striving for is a Theocracy and could end up as being as radical as the Fundamental Islamists in Iran. Fundamentalism is the same no matter what Religion is being followed.
