Barack Obama: The Right Choice?

Putting aside Obama's rhetorical abilities what experience does he have that qualifies him to be our President? He is a lawyer, former Indiana State Senator, with just three years as U.S. Senator: is that enough experience to qualify or deserve the tough job as President of the United States? He sounds almost Presidential, looks the part, but is that enough to be the leader of the World? What qualities does he think he has that merits his being our President?
He has a dream. He has hope, he has "answers" to tough questions, he was "right" about giving not wanting to give Bush the authority to go to war with Iraq; authority Bush already had as President, and was going to use despite a Congressional go-ahead. What about amnesty for illegal aliens? Is he "right" about that?
Blacks are flocking to his cause because he is Black. Yet he does not come from an American Black's heritage of slavery; so where is the attraction? It has become a racial issue despite all the good intentions. I've never seen so many black commentators, journalists, radio hosts being invited to speak about politics as is happening now. Then there is his glib answers to questions about Rev. Wright's comments.
The fact is he went to a church who regularly railed against White Society--for twenty years. The Reverends comments were taken out of context alright, but the Reverends approval of Farrakhan speaks volumes, context or not. Obama went to that church for twenty years and was intimately involved in its activities. Wright is like the fabled "tar-baby"; the more you try to push it away the more you get stuck to it.

Those Al Qaeda Bases

Al Qaeda will establish bases from which to organize and source attacks against the United States. They will launch intercontinental missiles, B52s, battleships, weapons of mass destruction, troop carriers and the like. They will train and equip many thousands of troops from these bases and these bases will be a great threat to the U.S. So says the Bush administration and its supporters and some Presidential wannabe's.
The only successes Al Qaeda has had is in using suicide bombers and airplane hijackers; who by the way were successful only because airplane cockpits were not lockable. Al Qaeda has had great success in inspiring fear by using the "terrorism" ploy. A bombing here, a video there and the West buys tape and plastic sheeting and looks under the bed. How many millions, or billions, of dollars have been spent for each Al Qaeda operative caught or killed? Are we getting our money's worth? The Politicians are playing the theme for all its worth, making hay while the sun shines so to speak. The military complex is really doing well, the Elite are getting great tax breaks, and everyone is happy. But wait till reality sets in, when the bill finally arrives. What then? Then maybe someone may ask, "what about those Al Qaeda bases?" "Are they real, are they really a threat?"
